It is hard to believe that Labor Day is less than 2 weeks away! As you know we have been encouraging you to invite others to join us , and inviting you to be a part of the planning and prep as well! We have had only a few people respond, which causes us pause to proceed with the picnic if a lot of people will be unable to attend or unable to help. Therefore, I want to ask your help in two ways:
-
Would you reply to this post via text to Rick or Robbie Franks and let me know if you are planning to come?
-
Some of the ways you can help are posted below and if you are able to assist with at least one of these ways, would you please send a text to Rick or Robbie Franks, listing the opportunity and let me know I can count on you?
We are hoping to finalize the details for this event before this Sunday, so PLEASE REPLY BY NOON on THURSDAY, AUGUST 26th (tomorrow).
Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Opportunity #1: help with set up. This involves arriving onsite at least 1/2 hour early to make sure signage is up, tables are in place, wiping down the tables, and seeing that trash cans are emptied and ready for our group.
-
Opportunity #2: Gathering and transporting items needed to and from the church. This involves bringing tables to use for the food, paper products for the picnic, serving utensils etc. Then packing up items and returning them to the church after the picnic.
-
Opportunity #3: Planning and gathering things for activities to do. This could involve lawn games, board games, group games, or even some sort of bigger activity, such as disc golf or field type games for a variety of ages. The main thing is to have activities that allow people to spend time together.
-
Opportunity #4: Oversee food portion. Typically the church provides the main dish, the paper products and the drinks for our picnics. If you were interested in either helping to plan or prepare the menu, comment below. We will automatically have those attending bring sides and desserts.

Opportunity #5: Plan ways to welcome visitors and/or reach out to others in the park. This is a very important aspect of this year’s picnic, but is also open to a lot of creativity! It could involve creating welcoming signage, creating a small gift to hand out to visitors, or a drawing for a prize package, or maybe something like creating an invite to church that could be attached to a water bottle and passed out to others in the park that day. Maybe you would like to be in charge of making nametags for everyone attending. or creating a flyer that could be available at church this Sunday for people to hand out as an invitation! We want to hear your ideas!!!
