Just Thinking of You!

Hi Everyone! We have been through enough years now of pandemic, post-pandemic, & post post pandemic that we have become accustomed to the reality that we do not know what this year holds, but we do know who holds us in the midst of it…and that is good enough for us…or at least we are learning for it to be enough. God is good and He is trustworthy and we can rest in Him; even though the circumstances of our lives seem so uncertain.

Please know that you are not alone! God is with you and has placed you in a church family that loves, cares for you, and is praying for you every day. And while nearly half of our congregation is digging themselves out from all this illness & crud, you are not alone!

How ironic that our theme for 2022 is #WalkingTogether2022! Even though the first couple of Sundays we will not be able to gather for worship together, we are still a body together in Christ to love each other and bear each other’s burdens. It has been such an encouragement for me to hear how you have been checking in on each other and offering to pick up supplies, offer meals, etc! Even though we are apart physically, it is good to see that in Christ we live in the sweet fellowship of His Spirit!

Our plan for January 9th is to do an online ONLY worship service in order to cut down on the spread of illness and to allow those who are sick to recuperate. We will meet in person for worship on January 16 (Lord willing), but we will not celebrate the Lord’s Supper as we typically do on the 16th. Hopefully slowly we can get back into the swing of things and on January 30th Pastor Rick can share some thoughts with you about this idea of #WalkingTogether2022 during the Sunday School hour!

In the meantime, enjoy the devotional “Be Thou My Vision”! Some of you may have only read a day or two’s worth and are feeling behind on your reading schedule. Others of you have not even gotten your copy yet and your feeling panicky. It is OK!!! You are not behind! If you have the devotional, simply jump in on the appropriate day (today being the 5th)…yes skip over the first four days and enjoy today’s reading. For those who have not gotten a copy, get one on the 16th when you come to church and jump in at that point. This devotional is not meant to be a task to be conquered, but a tool to help you enjoy Jesus! Slow down, savor it and enjoy the time the Lord has given you with Him!

I just want you to know that I am so thankful for each of you and am praying for you all! If you need anything please let me know or reach out to those closest to you! I love you all!!!!
— Pastor Rick
